I’m proud to share my journey with you—not just as a counselor, but as someone who has walked a path of challenge, growth, and resilience.

I grew up in Trenton, New Jersey, the youngest child of Sicilian immigrants who arrived at Ellis Island in search of a better life. My parents, a WWII veteran-turned-barber and a talented tailor, worked tirelessly to provide a stable, loving home. They taught me the value of hard work, the importance of community, and the courage to keep going no matter what life throws your way.

After three years of college, where I spent more time discovering myself than focusing on my education, I decided to chart a different course. At 21, I joined the U.S. Navy, seeking structure, purpose, and a way to define my own path. The Navy shaped me profoundly. Over two decades of service, I learned discipline, perseverance, and leadership while navigating the complexities of a rapidly changing world. From my deployment during Desert Storm to being on duty during 9/11, I experienced moments that tested me, pushed me, and ultimately helped me grow.

Through it all, I continued to work on my education. I wanted to prepare for life beyond the Navy and a second career that would allow me to give back in a meaningful way. While still on active duty, I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling, paving the way for a smooth transition into the next chapter of my life.

Today, as a professional counselor and counselor educator, I’ve dedicated my life to creating spaces where people can be seen, heard, and supported. My journey has taught me that resilience isn’t about never facing challenges—it’s about rising every time we do. It’s about discovering who we are at our core and finding the courage to live authentically, even when the road is hard.
